Fees
There are three types of fees for your immigration case: application fees paid directly to the government agency, miscellaneous fees and attorney fees if you decide to hire one.
Immigration Application Fees
The government agencies charge a fee for almost every immigration application. These fees must be paid when you submit your application. You can ask USCIS to waive fees for certain applications if you are experiencing financial hardship or meet their income guidelines.
Miscellaneous Fees
You will have miscellaneous fees that you pay to others. Some examples are passport style photos, certified documents, a medical exam, document translation and travel expenses. The fees depend on your unique situation and they type of application you are filing.
Legal Fees
If you choose to hire an attorney, you will also have legal fees.
Here is a list of my fees for some common cases. Your exact fee and payment plan will depend on many factors including the type of case you have, how complex it is and whether there is an upcoming deadline. For this reason, I am unable to quote exact fees until we have an initial consultation.

Consultations
The initial consultation is very important for both of us. During the consultation, we will talk about your situation and goals. I use this information to analyze your case and explain your options and the strengths and weaknesses of each option. I will also be able to answer your questions. After the consultation, I will let you know if this is a case I am able to take and what my fee is. The consultation also gives you a chance to decide if I am the type of attorney you would want to work with.
Reduced Fees
If you are experiencing a financial hardship or earn less than 250% of the federal poverty guidelines, I may consider a reduced fee or an extended payment plan. Please ask for an application form to be considered.
I only accept pro bono clients through the Immigrant Law Center of Minnesota (ILCM). If you cannot afford an attorney, you can contact a low cost legal services provider.
